Objection Guidelines:
You may have received a Parking Fee Tax Invoice (Parking Ticket) and you consider that it has been issued unfairly or there are valid circumstances that should be considered before finalising payment. Parkpay provides the opportunity for you to object to paying the parking fee. In deciding if you have grounds for an objection you need to consider the information below before and in telling us about your objection.
Our aim is for our objection process to be reasonable, considered and prompt. We aim to deal with your objection in accordance with these guidelines.
For us to consider your objection you must send us your objection within 14 days from the date of your Parking Ticket. It is our preference for you to use our standard form but regardless it must be in writing. We will not process or consider any objection on the telephone. The Parkpay “Objections Review Form” can be downloaded from the link above.
What detail should be included with the objection?
For us to consider the objection we will need to know the date on your Parking Ticket, the Parking Ticket number and your vehicle registration number. In addition we will need you to provide details on all relevant information that will allow us to undertake a proper review of your objection. You should consider providing such things as statutory declarations or affidavits from yourself of from witnesses, drawings or photos.
In providing us with you objection it is essential that you do not provide us with a false or untrue statutory declaration – that’s illegal and a serious criminal offence.
How we will deal with your objection:
Parkpay will undertake a full investigation of your objection. This may necessitate requesting further information from you.
If you have a legitimate objection we will advise you in writing that the fee is no longer payable and no further action is necessary.
In the event that your objection is not legitimate, you will be advised in writing including the fact that the fee requires payment. If you then choose not to make payment we will take legal action to recover the fee and costs. We will not take any legal action until your objection is finalised.
Things to Consider:
Always be polite in making your objection. We will not investigate any objection that is abusive or offensive
Who was the driver? In the event that the car registered in your name but was not driven by you but by someone else we recommend the simplest way to resolve this situation is for you to pay the fee and get reimbursed for the parking fee by the actual driver.
